1. Acceptance of Terms
1.1 Agreement to Terms
By accessing or using Psychedu's website (www.psychedu.ch, www.psychedu.school) and services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, you must not use our services.
1.2 Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use our services. By using Psychedu, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.
1.3 Changes to Terms
Psychedu reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of any material changes via email or through a notice on our website. Your continued use of our services after such modifications constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
2. User Accounts
2.1 Account Creation
To access certain features of Psychedu, you must create an account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to update such information to keep it accurate, current, and complete.
2.2 Account Security
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to notify Psychedu immediately of any unauthorized use of your account or any other security breach.
2.3 Account Termination
Psychedu reserves the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties, or for any other reason at our sole discretion.
3. Services and Subscriptions
3.1 Service Description
Psychedu provides online educational content and courses in psychology. Services include free content, premium courses, learning materials, and AI-powered chat assistance.
3.2 Subscription Plans
Premium features require a paid subscription. Subscription plans are billed monthly or annually in Swiss Francs (CHF). By subscribing, you authorize Psychedu to charge your payment method on a recurring basis until you cancel.
3.3 Free Trial
Psychedu may offer a free trial period for certain services. If you do not cancel before the trial period ends, you will automatically be charged for the subscription at the then-current rate.
3.4 Cancellation and Refunds
You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings. Cancellation will take effect at the end of your current billing period. Refunds are provided only as explicitly stated in our refund policy or as required by applicable law.
4. User Conduct and Prohibited Activities
4.1 Acceptable Use
You agree to use Psychedu services only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You shall not use our services in any manner that could damage, disable, overburden, or impair our servers or networks.
4.2 Prohibited Content
You may not post, upload, or transmit any content that is unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, or otherwise objectionable.
4.3 Academic Integrity
While Psychedu provides educational resources, you are responsible for maintaining academic integrity. Content from Psychedu should be used as a learning aid and not submitted as your own work in academic settings.
4.4 Sharing of Accounts
Account sharing is prohibited. Each subscription is for individual use only. Psychedu reserves the right to terminate accounts found to be shared among multiple users.
5. Intellectual Property Rights
5.1 Ownership
All content, features, and functionality of Psychedu, including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, images, course materials, and software, are the exclusive property of Psychedu, OpenStax, or our content licensors and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
5.2 Limited License
Psychedu grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use our services for your personal, non-commercial use. This license does not include the right to reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works from our content without express written permission.
6. Disclaimers and Limitations of Liability
6.1 Service Disclaimer
Psychedu services are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that our services will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.
6.2 Educational Disclaimer
The content provided by Psychedu is for educational and informational purposes only. It does not constitute professional psychological, therapeutic, or medical advice. Always seek the advice of qualified professionals for specific concerns or questions.
6.3 Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Psychedu shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses resulting from your use of our services.
7. Privacy and Data Protection
7.1 Privacy Policy
Your use of Psychedu is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information. By using our services, you consent to the collection and use of your information as described in the Privacy Policy.
7.2 Data Security
While we implement reasonable security measures to protect your data, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your information.
8. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
8.1 Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Switzerland, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of Psychedu services shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Canton of Schwyz, Switzerland.
